All this was followed with a hot towel to clean up! It was on Sun Country Airlines, a small carrier headquartered in Mpls. that started as a strictly charter carrier.WheelDancerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15219805760534549996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9199848742267562587.post-3831791147930390912010-02-24T15:11:20.974-07:002010-02-24T15:11:20.974-07:00SBJ- I generally abstain from going home with flig...SBJ- I generally abstain from going home with flight attendants of any generation, due to several reasons, foremost of which being happily married with 3 kids (hello!) Re: your “selection” hypothesis, I almost did a half-baked theory that prolonged time at high altitude = increased cosmic ray exposure = accelerated aging, but then caught myself. A few years back I remember reading about some study suggesting that flight attendants experienced higher cancer rates, though I don’t know that it was ever confirmed.Watcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02248341788957416471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9199848742267562587.post-230873963522667032010-02-24T12:10:56.127-07:002010-02-24T12:10:56.127-07:00"On tonight’s flight the lady pouring me coff..."On tonight’s flight the lady pouring me coffee looks like she fought in the Spanish-American War."

I'm guessing not even 2 or 3 of your famous martinis would make you want to go home with her. Maybe it's a sort of selection process in the airline industry. The young, attractive flight attendants are hooking up with the pilots and soon after leaving the profession. Those who don't get "selected" persist in their jobs in order to take full advantage of the union pension.

Paying for this union pension may be the reason the airlines have been forced to make coach suck so bad in recent years. Meanwhile, the older and grouchier the flight attendants get, the more coach sucks, the less people want to fly, the less money the airlines make, and it all spirals from there.Ski Bike Junkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12295969126174565599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9199848742267562587.post-28650648570964039362010-02-24T07:36:43.204-07:002010-02-24T07:36:43.204-07:00...here in the US you’re only likely to see paleog......here in the US you’re only likely to see paleognaths in a zoo or aviary...

I believe a number of attempts have been made to intoduce tinamous to the US as a gamebird (from memory, there was at least one release in Texas) but none of them has ever succeeded. Tinamous have a reputation for being real George of the Jungle birds. Like partridge and pheasants, they rocket into the air at great speed when they take flight. However, tinamous are likely to rocket at speed straight into the nearest tree-trunk.Christopher Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11075565866351612441noreply@blogger.com
